Recliners made in Nepal

Almost every recliner in Nepal is bought for one specific person. A father who works ten-hour days and wants twenty minutes with his legs up before dinner. A mother whose knees have started to complain on the stairs. A parent recovering from surgery. The rest of the family chips in and the chair arrives, and for the next fifteen years everybody knows whose chair it is.

That is why the only question that matters when buying one is whether it can be serviced in Nepal. A recliner is a mechanical object; something will eventually need attention. We deliberately build on a standard steel chassis with standard actuators, available in Kathmandu, with spares held in our workshop — rather than an imported mechanism with an impressive name and no parts in the country. An imported recliner with a dead motor is a very heavy chair.

Manual or motorised is the second question, and the honest answer depends entirely on the person. If they have normal arm and shoulder strength, take the manual RP Aaram Solo: it is roughly half the price, there is far less to fail, and it needs no socket. If they are elderly, recovering, or simply deserve a button, take the motorised RP Aaram Motor — two large buttons, slow travel, auto-return to upright, and a manual release underneath so nobody is ever stuck reclined during load-shedding.

On material we will give you the same advice every time. Genuine leather on anything motorised, because the chair will outlive PU at the headrest by a decade. PU leather is fine on the manual chair. If the budget will not stretch to leather on a motorised chair, buy the manual chair in leather instead of the motorised chair in PU — you will be happier in year eight.
