In Jhalak's words
This is the chair families buy for a parent. That is not marketing — it is simply who orders it. Somebody with a knee problem, somebody recovering, somebody who should not be wrestling a manual lever twice an evening.
One button, smooth motorised recline, auto-return to upright, a USB port in the arm for a phone, and a manual release underneath so nobody is ever stuck reclined during load-shedding. The motor is a standard unit we can service here in Kathmandu, which matters more than the brand name printed on it.
We build it in genuine leather only. A motorised recliner is a fifteen-year chair and PU wears through at the headrest long before the motor gives up. If the budget does not stretch, we will genuinely recommend the manual RP Aaram Solo instead of downgrading the leather.
“Bring the person it is for. Their opinion is the only one that counts.”— Jhalak Bahadur Khatri, proprietor
The build
Foam
40-density with moulded lumbar and headrest
Frame
Seasoned sal with a motorised steel chassis
Joinery
Bolted steel chassis on a timber frame
Stitch
Panelled leather top stitch
Ask us for an offcut of the actual foam going into your sofa and we will hand it to you. Come to the workshop and push the bare frame with your own hands before it is covered — most people who do that stop worrying.
Delivery and warranty, in plain language
Free delivery inside Ring Road, quoted honestly at cost anywhere else in Nepal. Fifty per cent advance when you sign the written specification, balance on delivery — and the specification lists the model, exact size, fabric name and batch, foam densities, leg finish and date, so there is nothing left to remember or argue about.
Five years on the frame and joinery. Five years on foam collapse. One year on stitching, zips and mechanisms. If something goes wrong, send a photograph and your ledger serial number to 9849239091 on WhatsApp — that is the whole claim process. Your fabric is reserved from the same roll for six months, so a matching extra piece actually matches.

Questions people ask about the RP Aaram Motor
It holds position, and there is a manual release lever underneath. Nobody gets stuck.
Yes, that is exactly why we use a standard unit. We hold spare motors and actuators in the workshop.
Yes — two large buttons, slow travel speed, and auto-return. We set the speed slower on request.
Because the headrest wears through in five to seven years and the chair will still have a working motor. If budget is tight, buy the manual model in PU instead.
Yes, 2.1 A. It is on the right arm as standard; left on request.
Two years on the motor and chassis, five on the frame.
